This is not simply a tribute but a continuation of the Hendrix ritual. Still going strong for 39 non-stop years, this is the only authentic Jimi Hendrix tribute band. Voodoo Child (featuring the one and only Jimy Bleu) was formed while Jimy was a member of the Jimi Hendrix official fan club at Warner/Reprise Records, 40 years ago! He is currently in post production on a film based on Hendrix' life. Voodoo Child has played thousands of shows worldwide during this span. Throughout his many years of playing music, Jimy has backed up and toured with the likes of Aerosmith, Wilson Picket, Slade, Betty Wright, J. Geils Band, Joe Tex, Foghat, New Birth, Al Green, Brook Benton and Lonnie Youngblood to name a few. In the early 90's Jimy was signed to Indie label Select Records, then later was signed to Columbia/Def Jam Records, under the management and direction of entertainment mogul Russell Simmons. As a multi-instrumentalist, he also worked as a Columbia studio musician, playing on tracks for such artists as Oran Juice Jones, Alyson Williams and Chuck Stanley, earning him favorable reviews for his musicianship by NYC publications The Village Voice and the NY Daily News. Voodoo Child is performs a Jimi Hendrix like none you've ever witnessed. Jimy plays guitar (a right handed guitar played upside down, left handed...ala Hendrix) behind his back, behind his head, on the floor, complete with flaming guitar theatrics. This is the one and only Voodoo Child!
